A weekend in Concepción

Written by

I arrived in Concepción in the middle of December to see Angelica and her student, Paz, to collect Antarctic moss samples and prepare instruments to record weather conditions in Antarctica.

Paz is finishing her thesis on desiccation tolerance of a moss species from Antarctica. Sharon and I met her during our last trip to King George Island. Paz took me on a tour of Universidad de Concepcion and then we climbed Cerro Caracol to view the city from the very overgrown miradors (lookouts). It was very good to catch up with both of them, especially Paz.
